Student Labs General Information
Student computer labs are available to all currently registered Adams State students, faculty, and staff. These machines come with all Adams State standard applications; some labs may also have specialized software. Many of these labs are used for classes; if the room is reserved for a large class you may be asked to leave. The instructor may group students to leave some computers open for others, but if you’re disruptive to the class you may be asked to leave.
Encryption – Adams State Employees
Encryption is the process of encoding information to make it unreadable to anyone except those that have the key that to unlock the data. Encryption can help protect information on Adams State owned computers in the event the computer is lost or stolen.

AntiVirus Programs are programs that users install on their computers to fight the ever growing threat of viruses. These programs come with firewalls and virus scanners that attempt to keep a virus from installing on your computer. AntiVirus Programs often require you to update components so that they can stay updated to fight against viruses more efficiently. Sale of used computers through the Adams State Bookstore
Computing Services is selling computers through the Adams State University Bookstore. The Bookstore is located in the Student Union Building.
To make the process of purchasing a computer easier, the bookstore is now keeping systems in stock ready for purchase. Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to buy computer systems.
Ellucian GO Mobile App
Adams State University announces the availability of a free mobile app for your iOS and Android devices. In partnership with Ellucian, a leader in developing solutions for higher education, Adams State University now offers everyone a way to check campus news, events, map locations, and more from their mobile devices. Students can also securely examine their grades and class schedules.
Printing in the Labs (Web Print)
Students receive a $30.00 print credit per semester. This is not an additional fee but is part of the technology fee. Printing is automatically deducted from this balance. Black and White printing is $0.05 a page and Color is $0.50 a page. In order to be “green” and conserve paper we charge the same price if the page is printed on one or both sided.
Transcript Requests
Official transcripts are issued by the Registrar’s Office and bear the College seal and Registrar’s signature. Official Transcripts are not processed if the student has an outstanding obligation, financial or otherwise due.
SoftChalk Lesson Builder
SoftChalk is course authoring software that can be installed on faculty and adjunct faculty computers. SoftChalk is used to create dynamic and interactive lessons that can be uploaded and utilized within courses in Blackboard. AITC will install SoftChalk on faculty machines as well as train faculty how to use the software.
Kaltura Personal Capture
Kaltura Personal Capture is used to capture a lecture on a personal computer with Personal Capture installed. Personal capture can be installed on computers off campus by contacting AITC or by accessing My Media under the Tools section of Blackboard. AITC will install Personal Capture as well as train the faculty how to use the software.
AITC – Kaltura (Multimedia Streaming)
AITC uses Kaltura Streaming Server to stream multimedia files within the Blackboard course environment. DVD and VHS can be converted for streaming and usage of the materials must comply with the TEACH ACT.
