Academic Instructional Tech. Center Assistant – Open

The AITC Assistant position is a part time campus employment position in AITC. The position provides assistance to the Instructional Designers and Tech specialist positions in AITC. This position provides level one tech support when the Tech Specialist is unavailable as well as completing tasks for instructional designers, such as creating content within Blackboard. Duties include: assisting campus faculty with technology to support academic instruction, creation of goals and evaluation sessions in Blackboard Outcomes for departmental assessment and updating Blackboard course content.

We are seeking a reliable, flexible, and friendly student with good oral and written communication skills. They will assist with general office tasks and at times lead in planning and staffing events and activities such as tabling, Career and Internship Fairs, meetings, etc. We are seeking someone with tech and social media skills to complement the above and to assist with managing the Handshake jobs platform. Center for Teaching Student Assistant – Closed

Through the support of the Office for Title V Initiatives, The Center for Teaching, Innovation, and Research (CTIR) welcomes applications for a student assistant position for the 2023-2024 academic year. CTIR is a collaborative hub for equitable and engaged teaching and learning across Adams State University. We offer programming, consultations, and partnerships for faculty and staff to deliver the Adams Experience through high-impact, socially-just practices.

In this 10-hour-a-week position, you will have the opportunity to learn about staff and faculty development while building your professional toolkit including event planning and communication strategy. In particular, the student assistant will:

  • Support center communication strategy by updating a weekly newsletter  (“Teaching Tuesdays”)
  • Maintain the CTIR Google Calendar of Events, workshop registration forms, and sending out post-session surveys
  • Collaborate with the Director of the Center for Teaching, Innovation, and Research for event planning, including creating marketing posts for upcoming workshops and gathering materials for events
  • Participate in student engagement initiatives, such as tabling and other programs to educate students on high-impact initiatives
  • Maintain and organize Shared Google Drive for instructional materials
  • Other duties as assigned and based on individual learning goals of the CTIR Assistant

This opportunity is available for both undergraduate and graduate students. Events Management Student Assistant Coordinator

The Events Management department has several openings for a Student Assistant Coordinator. Students must be detail oriented and have the ambition to learn and do new things along with strong technical skills. In this position, students will assist in day-to-day operations, working with faculty and staff during events. Students will be organizing paperwork, inputting information in Planning Pod (event planning software), assisting at campus events. Working evenings and weekends may be required depending on event date(s). Position will require lifting such as tables, chairs, etc. around campus. For safety reasons, candidates must be willing to perform physically demanding work when required. Must be reliable, responsible, and have good customer service and communication skills.

Facilities Custodial Assistant – Open

Salazar Rio Grande del Norte Center Project Assistant – Open

Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math & Science Department

The Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math & Science Dept is hiring van drivers for early evening All School/Night Sessions held 3-4 times per month. This position requires providing a valid driver’s license and will submit to a driver’s background check that will be completed by the ASU Facilities department. Student(s) must be willing to drive to various San Luis Valley High School locations to pick up students, and assist UB/UBMS staff during scheduled sessions.
