Laboratory Assistant – Open
A laboratory assistant is a student who is responsible for the preparation of all laboratory materials; completing all pre-lab and post-lab responsibilities as specified by their supervisor. Qualifications: Laboratory assistants must be Biology majors who are dependable and responsible. Sophomore standing and successful completion of General Biology and one year of chemistry is required or recommendation of course instructor.

Teaching Assistant – Open
A teaching assistant is a student who assists the instructors in a variety of tasks which may include: being present during laboratory sessions to help instruct students in techniques and to answer questions; grading of homework or lab reports; replenishing lab materials. Qualifications: Teaching assistants must be science majors, sophomore level or above, who are dependable and responsible. To assist in a lab or grade assignments, students must have successfully completed the class themselves.

Stockroom Assistant – Open
Duties will include organizing the stockrooms, taking inventory, cleaning glassware, keeping laboratories clean, and other duties as specified by the supervisor. Must be dependable and responsible. Preference given to Biology majors.

Chemistry
Teaching Assistant – Open
A chemistry teaching assistant is a student who assists the instructors in a variety of tasks; often the assignment will include more than one particular task. Work hours are arranged around your class schedule and other commitments and average about 8 hours per week. Tasks may include: preparing chemicals and equipment for labs or lecture demonstrations; being present during labs to help instruct students in techniques and to answer questions; grading of quizzes, homework or lab reports; cleaning up labs, stockrooms and student work areas; taking inventory; preparing and developing demonstrations for our chemistry magic shows; tutoring during regularly scheduled times. Job Requirements: Chemistry teaching assistants should be science majors with an interest in a major or minor in chemistry. To assist in a class or lab, students must have passed the class themselves or passed a related higher level course. The chemistry program hires about 10 students a year.

Chemistry Lab Assistant – Open

Geosciences
Ryan Museum Docent – Open
Act as guide and supervisor during open hours in the Edward M. Ryan Geological Museum, assisting with tours as needed, specimen curation, keeping visitation records, and/or other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of Junior level Geosciences coursework may be required.

Mathematics
Tutor in Math Lab – Open
Duties include tutoring students from across the mathematics curriculum in the Math Lab. Students must be proficient in mathematics through Calculus I.

Nursing
Laboratory Technician Assistant – Closed
Responsibilities will include but not limited to, prepare Laboratory for activities and clean up laboratory after activities, assist with Inventory of Supplies, assist Coordinator and Technician with running audio-visual equipment during simulations, create moulage (blood, urine, ect..), assist with scheduling, assist with maintenance of equipment, promote a safe laboratory environment and assist with Administrative Duties. Students currently in the nursing program cannot apply.

Planetarium Assistant – Closed
Responsibilities include operation of the planetarium for public shows. Training will be provided. This position corresponds to 3-4 hours of work per week. Must be available to work most Wednesday and Thursday evenings throughout the semester from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
