The Adams State University Chamber and Concert Choirs will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, in Richardson Hall Auditorium. The performance will include works by Aaron Copland, Frank Ticheli, Eric Whitacre, and George Gershwin.
A special addition to the evening will be performances by the men and women of Chamber Choir. The men will be singing "Last Letter Home" by Lee Hoiby, based on a letter from an infantryman, who lost his life in the Iraq War, to his family. "Reflections from Yad Vashem" by Daniel J. Hall, written for women’s choir, memorializes the names of children who perished in the Holocaust, and will include Joy Plesner on viola. Concert Choir and Chamber Choir will join in singing Dwight Bigler’s Perspectives, three settings of poems by Langston Hughes, the African-American poet and social activist from the mid-20th century.
