Adams State University hosted the annual retreat of the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE) on campus Aug. 4. Opening remarks were given by Colorado Lt. Governor Donna Lynne, who presented the state perspective on higher education.
A panel discussion, "How Has the Environment Changed? – National, Regional and Institutional Perspectives," was presented by Arnold Salazar, Chair of the Board of Trustees for Adams State University; Dr. Beverlee J. McClure, Adams State President; Eddie Koen, Colorado Executive Director of College Track; and Chris Holbert, state senator.
"We were honored to host the CCHE. We appreciated the opportunity to share how our efforts are aligning with the state’s master plan. We value their efforts to advance higher education in Colorado and the opportunity to work with them," McClure said.
The retreat also included a discussion of the "History of Higher Education Planning in Colorado" by former CCHE Chair and Commissioner Hereford Percy. Department of Higher Education staff members presented updates on the DHE Master Plan. Participants also received a guided tour of the Adams State campus.
