The Adams State University Board of Trustees April 8, 2022 meeting brought about an atmosphere of optimism for the future of the University.
The financial forecast continues to look favorable as reported by Chief Financial Officer Heather Heersink “The financial accomplishments have drastically improved over the last three years. We are now in a better place.” The Board commended the entire institution for its work and supports moving towards growth and reinvestments.
Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs Margaret Doell chairs the re-accreditation committee and has worked with departments across campus to meet the core components required for re-accrediation. The institution is prepared for the Higher Learning Commission visit the end of April. The Board expressed excitement about the visit and the opportunity to highlight the many positive aspects at Adams State.
The board approved a statement of free speech set forth by the Faculty Senate, an associate’s degree in engineering, as well as tenure, sabbatical, and emeritus requests.
Adams State President Cheryl D. Lovell appreciates all faculty and staff who have worked to bring the University forward and their commitment to students. “It is a great time to be a Grizzly and I believe we will continue to share more good news as we move into the future.”
