On April 12th and 13th, the Adams State University Department of Sociology participated in the 13th Annual Undergraduate Sociology Conference, held this year at Colorado Mesa University, in Grand Junction, Colo.
Students from Colorado Mesa University, Western Colorado State University, Fort Lewis College, and Adams State University presented research to community members, faculty and students. Four ASU sociology seniors gave power point presentations of their semester research projects. Emily Sharpe presented, “Childhood Maltreatment and Social Factors.” Matt Brock presented, “The Civil Rights Movement.” Finally, Marissa Trujillo and Alejandro Tovar presented, “The Chicano Movement or El Movimiento.”
The conference concluded with students and faculty engaged in stimulating discussions about the sociological implications of the many, varied research projects.
In April 2020, Adams State University will host the 14th annual conference.
