The Adams State University Music Department will welcome the Concordia University Chicago Concert Choir, Kapelle, at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 5, in Leon Memorial Hall.
Kapelle, conducted by Dr. Charles P. Brown, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Concordia University Chicago, will perform in Alamosa during its annual spring concert tour.
Kapelle is the premier choral ensemble of the University. Chosen by audition, the choir prepares a variety of music for local and national audiences. An annual spring ten-day tour takes Kapelle to a variety of regions in the United States. Additionally, Kapelle embarks on an international tour every four years and has performed in Europe and South America countries including Finland, France, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Chile and Argentina. The ensemble most recently performed a concert tour in Poland in the spring of 2015. In addition to touring opportunities, Kapelle has produced eleven recordings.
Sunday’s concert program will center on music in respect to the theme, "No Greater Love" which will include a variety of pieces programmed for wide audience appeal.
