The Adams State University Chamber and Concert Choirs will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at in the Sacred Heart Church. This program is part of the Music Department’s ETHOS: Exploring Equity through Music project, and is in preparation of Chamber Choir’s performance at the Colorado Music Educators Association conference in January. The CMEA program is titled, "An Immigrants Story: Hopes, Dreams and Fears in an Uncertain Time."
Works will include the "Gloria" from Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramirez, with Dr. Matthew Valverde and Skye Montoya, tenors, as well as Hispanic folk songs, African American spirituals, and early American hymns. The concert will celebrate the heritage of immigrants, recognizing the hardships many face. The choirs will be joined by Tyleen Stults on piano and violin, and Delaney Armstrong and Dryden Hill on percussion.
