Home for the summer and need to catch-up on your general education courses, or maybe you will begin your college career this fall and would appreciate a head-start on your degree. Registration has begun for the Adams State University summer classes.
A full slate of general education courses is available during Summer Session 2016. Eric Carpio, assistant vice president for Student Services, said summer financial aid is available to eligible students, including new high school graduates
With flexible scheduling, general education courses are offered in May, June and July. Summer courses are open to Adams State students, high school students, and college students home for summer break from their university studies.
Three-week courses starting May 16 include introduction to biology, introduction to music literature, introduction to psychology, and sociological imagination. Four-week courses, beginning May 16, include introduction to environmental science, finite math, and American government.
Three-week courses starting June 13 include art appreciation, communication arts I, development of civilization II, and introduction to philosophy. The six-week course, introduction to biology, also begins June 13.
Three-week courses starting July 5 include communication arts II, major themes in literature, development of civilization I, and introduction to theatre.
All of these courses are part of the Colorado statewide guaranteed transfer program meaning that they’ll satisfy general education requirements at any Colorado public college/university.
"By attending Summer Session, students can more easily finish their degrees within four years. This saves both time and money," Carpio added
In addition, new students who enroll at Adams State during Summer Session and continue in the fall semester will qualify for a lower Guaranteed Tuition rate than those who wait to begin in the fall.
