Although time passes, Adams State University connections remain strong for the many whose legacy of true dedication and loyalty built a strong foundation for academic programs. One such legend, Cloyde Snook came back to campus on December 5 to spend a couple hours catching up and reminiscing with alumni, fellow emeritus professors, and community members.
Cloyde Snook, emeritus professor of art, arrived at Adams State in 1966 and retired in 1992. He appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with his Adams State past. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
“Cloyde was one of the best professors I ever had and one of the best department heads,” said Frances “Frankie” Will, Class of 1990 ceramic artist. “He was known for being gentle and easygoing and his art critiques were positive and nurturing.”
Judy and Butch Jones, Class of 1969 and ceramic artist, organized the visit and reception. Judy Jones worked as the Art Department administrative assistant during Snook’s tenure and Butch Jones modeled his teaching style and art discipline after Snook. “It was so wonderful to have Cloyde back on campus again.”
