The SLV Wellness Study and Empower U invite everyone to a community event, Sunday, May 7, to celebrate the success of the SLV Wellness Study and learn about future opportunities to join this study.
"It is important to address inclusivity in our community and in the world," said Dr. Jeremy Yeats, assistant professor of HPPE. "We want to offer an opportunity to interact with members of the SLV community and provide a culminating event for participants in this study and others as we close our eight-week program."
The community event will be a day at the Great Sand Dunes National Park for hiking, sand boarding, sand sledding, and other physical activities. Participants are asked to meet at Adams State’s East Campus parking lot (former Evans School) at 10:30 a.m. to carpool. Rides in cars that already have park passes will be on a first come first served basis. If those cars fill up, any additional car will need to pay $15/car. Adams State will provide sand boards, sand sleds, and other fun activities; participants should bring their own socks, sunscreen, food, and water.
