The Adams State University Cloyde Snook Gallery exhibit "Convergence," will host an opening reception from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, in the Art Building. The exhibit continues through February 23.
Convergence includes artwork from Colorado State University Master of Fine Art students: Maggie Adams, Sonja Allen, Taylor Bisbee, Emily Boutilier Sullivan, Alex Forsythe, Katie Gabriel, Adams Jones, Melissa Laugen, Andrew Meyer, Carrie Miller, Zach Miller, Christy Nelson, Barbara Rudlaf, Kyle Singer, and Hazel Tully.
In 2015, Eugene Schilling, professor of art, exhibited paintings at CSU. While there, he presented a lecture of his artwork and met many of the graduate students. "I was impressed with their artwork and their energy. Convergence is a great show and several of the artists will be present at the opening reception."
During the same time frame, the Hatfield Gallery will feature "Monumental Landscapes: Imaging Ghost Ranch," a student exhibit. The show includes images from artists who spent four days at the Northern New Mexico Ghost Ranch photographing the landscape. Following in the footsteps of Georgia O’Keefe and Ansel Adams, students received on-site instruction of proper use of different equipment and natural lighting techniques.
The Cloyde Snook and Hatfield Gallery hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday. For information call the Art Department Office at 719-587-7823.
