Music major, Ben Paden presented his research on Iannis Xenakis, who, as Paden described, "combined the art forms of architecture and music into a complete experience," during the 2014 Student Scholar Days.
Biology, Spanish, history, music, psychology, chemistry, and art – the eighth annual Adams State University Student Scholar Days includes presentations from disciplines across campus. Student Scholar Days, an annual multidisciplinary two-day conference, highlights the academic achievements of undergraduate students at Adams State.
Oral presentations are scheduled from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday, April 2, and from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, April 3, in McDaniel Hall room 101. Both days will include breaks during the lunch hour. Poster presentations are scheduled from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in the McDaniel Hall Solarium. Posters will remain on display until Friday evening. The event is free and open to the public.
Oral presentations will run approximately 20 minutes, and will feature time for audience participation. Student presentations will include an examination of Trypophobia: the fear of holes, the hidden culture of the cemeteries of the San Luis Valley, and a video production on finding Bigfoot.
This event will showcase the exceptional caliber of work done by undergraduates in various academic departments. Adams State welcomes the active support and participation of the surrounding community. On Friday, April 3, a concluding reception in honor of student presenters will begin at 5 p.m. in McDaniel Hall’s first floor solarium.
