Adams State University and Lifeways of the San Luis Valley is proud to announce the final presentation in the Fall 2015 Lifeways of the San Luis Valley Lecture Series. Dr. Benjamin Waddell, associate professor of sociology, will present his lecture, "Speaking of Immigration…" at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, in McDaniel Hall room 101. The event is free and open to the public.
The premise of Waddell’s lecture will be an analysis and comparison of immigration trends. In particular, it will be a presentation on the similarities and difference across Latin America and within San Luis Valley. Plan to attend what promises to be a riveting presentation on a topic relative to the region, state, nation, and world.
Waddell earned his Ph.D. in sociology and master’s in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico. He teaches courses that focus on racial and ethnic relations, education, social psychology, and social inequality. He strives to awaken his students to the knowledge that they have the power to effect change in the world in a positive manner.
Lifeways of the San Luis Valley celebrates the rich history and diversity of the San Luis Valley. The course and lecture series are made possible through grants from the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area and Kenzo Kawanabe of the Boettcher Foundation.
Parking is located east of McDaniel Hall. Adams State parking lots do not require permits after 5 p.m.
