With temperatures below freezing, a hot beverage is the perfect pick-me-up for Adams State University Grizzlies. The Grizzly Roast opened for business on Monday, Jan. 28. Proceeds from sales will be applied to reduce student fees.
Mark Manzanares, Ph.D. Counselor Education chair, appreciates the support of Adams State staff and faculty. “In particular, President Lovell and Dr. Hensley who recognized the importance of the initiative and did all they could to help open the Grizzly Roast.”
The Counselor Education Department funded the Grizzly Roast equipment and startup costs from their budget. The department continues to operate the coffee stop with Kristina Gutierrez, counselor education graduate student, as manager.
The Grizzly Roast is open to the public.
Located on the first floor of McDaniel Hall, the Grizzly Roast is open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. After 3 p.m., parking in the McDaniel Hall lot will not require permits. “We welcome community members to gather in the warm, sun-drenched lobby and enjoy a hand-crafted beverage and snack,” Manzanares added.
