The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Black Rifle Coffee Company and United States Veteran Evan Hafer will speak during the Veterans at Adams State (VAAS) Fifth Annual Banquet.
The event "Veteran Entrepreneurs" begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Square Peg Brewerks, located on 625 Main Street in Alamosa.
According to Black Rifle Coffee Company, Hafer started Black Rifle Coffee Company to provide a high-quality, roast-to-order, coffee to the pro 2A and veteran communities. "Between deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I was working to refine both my coffee roasting skills and my firearms skills. I have spent over a decade researching coffee, refining my roast profiles and (of course) drinking what I roast. Black Rifle Coffee is quite literally the combination of my two favorite passions. I take pride in the coffee we roast, the veterans we employ and the causes we support."
Veterans at Adams Club President James Owens said along with Hafer, the banquet supports local veteran-owned businesses including Square Peg Brewerks, the venue of the banquet, and The Acropolis, which will provide the meal.
Tickets are $20 for community members and $15 for Adams State Associated Students and Faculty. The cost of the ticket will cover the meal and non-alcoholic drinks. Participants, with a valid identification, may purchase Square Peg beer.
The evening will include a silent auction and Black Rifle Coffee door prizes.
