The community is invited to the Adams State University screening of Inequality For All at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Richardson Hall Auditorium. A moderated audience discussion will follow the film. The event is free and open to the public.
A passionate argument on behalf of the middle class, Inequality for All features Robert Reich as he demonstrates how the widening income gap has a devastating impact on the American economy. The film is an intimate portrait of a man whose lifelong goal remains protecting those who are unable to protect themselves. Through his singular perspective, Reich explains how the massive consolidation of wealth by a precious few threatens the viability of the American workforce and the foundation of democracy itself. In this Inconvenient Truth for the economy, Reich uses humor and a wide array of facts to explain how the issue of economic inequality affects each and every one of us.
Reich, Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley and Senior Fellow at the Blum Center for Developing Economies, was Secretary of Labor in the Clinton administration. Time Magazine named him one of the ten most effective cabinet secretaries of the twentieth century. He has written fourteen books, including the best sellers "Aftershock, "The Work of Nations," and "Beyond Outrage."
