Family and friends of Desiree Quintana gathered with Adams State University School of Business faculty to honor her memory at a plaque dedication on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022.
Quintana was in her final month of classes when a tragic automobile accident took her life on April 3, 2022. In one of her final assignments, read by School of Business Director Liz Thomas-Hensley, Ph.D., Quintana said how much she loved her sons and how they enriched her life and made it meaningful.
The plaque dedicated to Quintana is on a large rock outside the main entrance to the School of Business Building. “This way, we will keep Desiree’s memory alive,” Thomas-Hensley said. “She was a great student and person.”
At the time of her death, Quintana qualified for graduation and received her Bachelor of Arts degree posthumously at the 2022 Adams State Spring Commencement Ceremony.
