The San Luis Valley Symphony will present its Spring Classics Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in Leon Memorial Hall, located on the Adams State University campus.
Under the direction of Dr. William Lipke, the program will feature popular selections including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 41, "Jupiter," Albinoni’s profound Adagio, and Carl Maria von Weber’s joyful Concertino for Clarinet and Orchestra with Miriam Lipke, the concerto competition winner.
The program will conclude with an audience favorite, Johann Strauss Jr.’s "Thunder and Lightning Polka."
The SLV Symphony is composed of former and current professional orchestra members, ASU faculty members, All-State level students, and community members. Tickets will be available in the Music Department Office and at the door.
