Visiting professor, Dr. Nick Parker, formerly of Texas Tech University, will teach a new course this summer at Adams State University related to sustainability.
Parker earned his doctorate in wildlife and fisheries science from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in science from Memphis State University. His primary interests are rural economic development, integrated agriculture systems, value-added products and renewable energy. Through instruction and examples of practical application during site visits throughout the San Luis Valley, this course will provide attendees with an overview of key environmental challenges, worldwide viewpoints and will proposed business solutions to these challenges. The course will empower attendees to take action and improve both their local and the global environment.
The class will be held from June 1, 2015 through June 6, 2015 in the Adams State School of Business room 142. Class will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday; and from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday. Adams State students and community members are welcome to attend.
The course is available both for credit for students and non-credit for non-students. Students can register through Adams State as they would any other course, Sustainability 101, ID 179, and CRN 11565.
