The Adams State University Board of Trustees met at its quarterly meeting on June 9, 2022, in Del Norte, Colo. to discuss the direction of the university following the termination the contract of former President Cheryl D. Lovell, Ph.D., on June 3.
“Over the past year the Board of Trustees has come to realize that the University is entering a new era requiring forward thinking leadership and strategic direction,” said BOT Chair Michele Lueck. “As we move forward, we look for improvements in campus climate, increased enrollment, and student success.”
Vice President for Academic Affairs Kent Buchanan, Ph.D., will serve as Acting President as a search for an interim President will commence immediately. A separate search for a permanent President will run concurrently with an appointment targeted for spring 2023.
