Adams State values, and actively engages in, shared decision-making.
Shared governance provides the opportunity to all stakeholders of the University to participate in decisions that affect the direction of the University.
Shared governance requires the active cooperation and interdependence of the Board of Trustees, administrators, the faculty, staff and students, and many other constituent groups in ongoing management of the University.
Adams State is deeply committed to promoting effective shared governance by fostering the open and transparent exchange of information and opinion between the governing board, the administration, the faculty senate, and other representative bodies with respect to short and long range planning, the setting of institutional priorities, campus operations, educational policy, external relations, and management of the budget.
